Richard Thomas of West Whiteland, Chester County, Pa., deeded to his son William Ashbridge Thomas of Bellefonte, Centre County, Pa., 286-1/2 acres on the west side of Chest Creek, Cambria County, Pa., and two acres of the 325 acres on the east side to build a dam for a furnace, forge, mill, sawmill, or waterworks. The land was later sold to John G. Miles.
