Collection primarily consists of the family and business correspondence, 1838-1860, account books, and other financial records of Samuel Fisher Adie (1806-1860), merchant in Leesburg and Richmond, Va., and the family and personal correspondence, 1838-1875, of his wife, Gustavia Butler (Wilson) Adie (1816-1875) of Leesburg, including extensive correspondence with her cousin, Congressman John Thomas Wilson (1811-1891) of Ohio. Also, includes correspondence, accounts, and related materials of other members of the Adie family.
