Salvemini Gaetano (1873-1957) was a historian and one of the earliest opponents of fascism in Italy. He became the first Lauro de Bosis Lecturer in the History of Italian Civilization at Harvard University in 1934 and continued teaching at Harvard until 1948. Felix Muskett Morley (1894-1982) was director of the Geneva office of League of Nations Association of the United States from 1929 to 1931. He served as editor of the Washington Post from 1933 to 1940. He was president of Haverford College from 1940 to 1945, and cofounder and editor of Human Events from 1945 to 1950. Stephen G. Cary (1915-2002) graduated from Germantown Friends School in 1933. He received a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in chemistry from Haverford in 1937 and a master's in international administration from Columbia University in 1943. He was a conscientious objector during World War II and served in the Civilian Public Service from 1942-1946.
