Memorandum of agreement with James Dodsley, 1782 February and May 25.

The memorandum, in Jenyns's hand and signed by him, relates to the publication in 1782 of his Disquisitions on several subjects; Dodsley pays Jenyns for the copyright. A signed note by Jenyns, 25 May, at the foot of the page states that he received the money.

Soame Jenyns is best known for his Free enquiry into the nature and origin of evil (1757) which received savage treatment by Samuel Johnson in his review published in the Literary magazine.
