The accession consists of 5 cubic feet of papers of oceanographic instrument engineer James M. Snodgrass. The accession includes correspondence, memoranda, reports, photographs and slides documenting Snodgrass's career as an instrument engineer at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The accession also includes three color films of the Scripps campus c1958 and two 1967 audio tape recordings of interviews with Snodgrass on the history of satellite navagation. The accession includes documentation of Snodgrass's work with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Working Group on Telecommunications and files and photographs documenting the Integrated Global Ocean Station System (IGOSS).
