This collection consists of copies of papers relating to Buckingham Monthly Meeting, handed down through the Watson family. Included are accounts of the meeting by John Watson (1740-1817) and by Samuel Preston written to John Watson (1774-1864). Also included are memorials of prominent members of Buckingham Monthly Meeting, the most extensive of which refer to Jacob Holcombe, John Scarbrough, Oliver Paxson, and Phebe Ely.

Samuel Preston was a Buckingham Township, Pa. surveyor and conveyancer, born in Bucks County and died in Stockport, Wayne County. Buckingham Monthly Meeting was established in 1720 by Bucks Quarterly Meeting out of Falls Monthly Meeting. At the time of the Hicksite Separation of 1827, the monthly meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Buckingham Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued in 1897, and its members were attached to Falls Monthly Meeting (Orthodox).
