Letter, 1805 Aug. 21 [Camden, S.C.?], to James Brown, Esq[uire].

Letter concerning Samuel Carter, who had been jailed on suspicion as a horse thief, and indicating that Job Edens and Henry Rogers had offered to pay Carter's bail of $200. Although this letter does not indicate the locations of the persons mentioned, the U.S. Federal Census of 1810 listed Job Edens as a resident of the town of Chesterfield, S.C.
