George Harrington (1815-1892), Treasury official and diplomat. Harrington served as a clerk in the Treasury Department before being appointed chief clerk under his personal friend Salmon P. Chase. During the Civil War, he served as assistant secretary of the treasury. He was Grand Marhsall at the funeral of President Lincoln.
