Ida Brewington Pittman Collection. [1945-1977]

This collection contains many newsclippings about Ida Brewington Pittman's husband Vail, who was governor of Nevada 1945-1950. The collection also contains letters of condolences over Vail Pittman's death, original speeches from the Vail Pittman Elementary School's dedication, copies of resolutions, an inaugural invitation, some financial notes, travel papers, address lists, and notes about phone calls. Most of the items in this collection pertain to her husband's life rather than her own.

Ida Brewington Pittman was a high-school teacher in Tonopah, Nevada. She organized the first orchestra and chorus in the Tonopah Schools. She married Vail Pittman in 1919.
