Account book kept by [David Young], 1830-1844.

Unidentified daybook, possibly kept by David Young, a housewright, from 10 Apr. 1830 - 15 Dec. 1844. The entries note daily charges for supplies and labor for carpentry work and house construction, including the homes of Robert Bennet Forbes and John Murray Forbes in Milton, Mass. The accounts were kept in Augusta, Me. (Apr. 1830-June 1832); Malden, Mass. (June 1832-Jan. 1833); Pittston, Me. (Jan.-June 1833; Mar.-Oct. 1835); Milton (June 1833-Dec. 1834; May 1841-Nov. 1841); Gardiner, Mass. (May 1835-May 1841); Boston (Nov. 1841-Aug. 1844); and Dorchester (Aug.-Dec. 1844).

David Young was born in 1946 and raised in Oakville, Ont. He is best known for his plays Glenn (Stratford Festival, 1999) and Inexpressible Island (1999). He has written extensively for radio, television and film. He is the founder of the Baffin Island Writer's Project.
