Include letter, 1781, from Francis Tate to Vincent Tapp, Albemarle Barracks, stating price of linen and reporting capture of enemy outposts near Yorktown; letter, 1784, from George Rice to Vincent Tapp, concerning plans to survey land for the Army and offering Tapp a position as one of the surveyors. Also include letter, 1786, from George Rice to unknown, concerning the settling of his accounts; letters, 1795-1796, to Vincent Tapp concerning miscellaneous business and personal matters and plans to go to Kentucky with offer to divide land holdings; and letter, 1803, Joseph Borden to Jacob Peck pertaining to Borden's suit in chancery, which Peck is handling. Also include letters, 1797-1798, to the Postmaster at Staunton re: an inquiry about mail service between Staunton and Abingdon; a request that letters be forwarded to Lexington, Ky.; and inquiries about a letter and money order directed to a Staunton resident.
