Gwaltney's brief statement of his army career; farm news; and personal health. Of interest is a letter, 1904 March 7, to Jones from S.M. Williams, Richmond, Va., in which he mentions the Russo-Japanese War and states that "it is going to be a great war, that France, Germany, England, and the United States will have a hand in it before it is over."
