Papers, 1955-1985.

The majority of the papers concern the Monticello Association and the publication of their "Collected papers of the Monticello Association," Volumes I and II. In addition to correspondence re: the editing and publication of the volumes, there are Association minutes and some manuscripts. There are also letters from George Scott Shackelford, 1955-1978, re: family and personal matters, the Shenandoah Club, and the restoration of Smithfield Plantation, and a blueprint plat and an electrostatic copy of a topographical map of the graveyard property at Monticello, 1975.
