Papers of the Pollock and related Gilmour and Janney families, 1872-1914.

Collection consists chiefly of letters to Lily Pollock from friends and family members on personal affairs, but also includes mention of William McKinley's assassination and funeral procession; an appendectomy; tuberculosis treatments; child abuse; and the necessity of schooling for Nannie Lee Janney so that she will be a "young lady of this century." Other topics include: the deaths of Taylor Scott, Matthew Gilmour (1904), and Nannie Lee Pollock Janney (1908); the upkeep and possible sale of "Leeton Forest"; the mining ventures of John Janney in Utah; John Janney's ocean voyage; corn crops; cattle sales; and the recovery of Monroe Gilmour from a burn injury. Collection also contains a photograph, wedding announcements, receipts, recipes, and an obituary of Rev. A. D. Pollock.
