John M. McClelland, Jr., papers, 1916-1987.

Correspondence and research notes of John M. McClelland, made over a 25 year period of researching the IWW/American Legion altercation in Centralia, Wash., Nov. 1919, and the subsequent lynching, capture, jailing, trial, verdict, imprisonment, and efforts to free the prisoners. The notes detail one of the most explosive and heated labor incidents in the Northwest and the research led to the publication of the book Wobbly War, the Centralia Story (1987).
