Hebron Church is the oldest Lutheran congregation in Virginia and in the South. It worships in the oldest Lutheran church building in continuous use. Hebron was never a union church, even though when the first Lutherans came to Virginia in 1717 they were settled near the German colony of Reformed who had come in 1714 and with whom they were closely associated.
