Include manuscript copy of the minutes, 1762-1859, of the Broad Run Baptist Church, Fauquier County, Va., with references to Afro-American congregation members; bound volumes of the minutes, 1818-1852, of the Fauquier County School Commissioners; and a copy of tavern rates set by the Fauquier County Court in 1819. Also include two letters, 1862 and 1864, from Lieutenant L.C. Lindsley, 49th Va. Regiment, to his wife concerning camp life, advice on managing the plantation, and unit casualties in the Battle of Cold Harbor; and two letters, 1951, relating to the location of the railroad station at Rappahannock County, Va., providing service for the Orange and Alexandria Railroad. Also include articles, ca. 1948, pertaining to Lt. John R. Meigs' death in the Civil War and Jesse Thomas' ride to warn Baron von Steuben during the Revolutionary War; and five photographs, n.d., of historic sites at Appomattox, Va.
