Lansdowne Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) was established in 1901 by Concord Quarterly Meeting out of Darby Monthly Meeting. Lansdowne Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) was established in 1904 by Concord Quarterly Meeting out of Chester Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). In 1951, the Hicksite and Orthodox monthly meetings merged to form a united monthly meeting. In 1955, Lansdowne Monthly Meeting became part of the newly-formed Chester Quarterly Meeting. Lansdowne Friends School was established in 1902 on the grounds of Lansdowne Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) under a school committee of the monthly meeting and the supervision of the Committee on Education of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. It was located at 110 N. Lansdowne Ave. One building is called Garrett House. In 1959-1960, a building next door, at 120 N.
