Rodgers-Bloomfield family collection, 1818-1939.

The collection consists of a Bible, concordance and common place book which belonged to Rev. John Rodgers (1727-1811) who was a Presbyterian minister in New York City. The majority of the collection was put together by Rev. Ravaud Kearney Rodgers who served as minister to Bound Brook Presbyterian Church (N.J.) for forty years. His papers covered a period of time from 1818-1876. They include his letters, sermons, papers relating to church calls, his graduation from theological seminary at Princeton University, Bible societies which he was a member, and various church activities of the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church. Also included are miscellaneous items belonging to Robert L. Bloomfield of Athens and other members of his family dating from 1860 to 1939. A complete and detailed listing is included.

Ravaud Kearney Rodgers was a Presbyterian minister, born in New York City in 1796. He was the son of John R. B. Rodgers, M.D., surgeon in the Revolutionary army, practicing physician, and professor in the medical department of Columbia College, New York City.
