Papers, 1918-1984 (bulk 1918-1919).

Chiefly photocopies of letters written by Daniel Newman Barber to his mother, sisters, and sister-in-law. Daniel was an ambulance driver for the 313th Ambulance Company in France during World War I. Letters contain references to his experiences and observations as a soldier. Place names include: Verdun, La Bourboule, Pierrefitte sur Aire, Bar le Duc, Paris, Rimaucourt, Nantes, and Fort Dix at Wrightstown, N.J. Collection also includes introduction written by James Barber and Timothy N. Barber, son and grandson respectively of Daniel Newman Barber.
