This series contains the railroad and telegraph tax return ledgers of the Division of Ad Valorem Tax and its predecessors, the Railroad Assessment Board and the Comptroller's Office, from 1925 to 1977. There are several gaps in the series. Missing are returns for 1926-1929, 1931-1932, 1959-1963, 1967-1971, and 1975-1976.

The Division of Ad Valorem Tax was created in 1972 (Ch. 72-266, Laws) as part of the Dept. of Revenue.
