The collection contains papers from 1889 to 1915 relating to the business investments of Sir Edward J. Reed in Florida. It is primarily correspondence to Reed and his agents in London from Jacksonville land agents. The records consist of letters, tax receipts, deeds, mortgages, and survey maps. It documents Reed's ownership and sale of land in Manatee and Hillsborough counties, which originally were part of the Disston purchase. There also is a stock certificate of the Florida Transit Railroad.
