Dr. Mark Frederick Boyd, born in 1889, was an internationally known doctor in the field of public health and tropical medicine. His career combined public health service, teaching, and research. He did studies on malaria in Brazil, Jamaica, Mississippi, Georgia, and North Carolina. Dr. Boyd established a research laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida in 1931.
