Crane's photography documenting his tenure at Keams Canyon, Ariz., and Albuquerque and Fort Defiance, N.M. while he was Indian agent to the Navajo, Hopi, and Pueblo tribes, and on the Crow Creek Reservation, South Dakota; his term as Executive Secretary of Arizona State Prison at Florence; and as a ranger and guide at Boulder (Hoover) Dam.
