John H. Leete, math professor and secretary of the administrative faculty at Pennsylvania State College, sends a letter to General James A. Beaver, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, enclosing a petition from the faculty (signed by nineteen) protesting Penn State president George W. Atherton's proposed resignation. Beaver responds with particulars concerning Atherton's wish to resign for his health.
