Muster roll and orders to the commissary, 1772-1781.

Collection contains a muster roll and letters (orders) to commissary George Wray. Muster roll (1772) is for the company commanded by Capt. David Standish in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Artillery at New York. The roll is certified by George Wray. Letters (1781) are orders (written from Charleston, South Carolina) to Wray for the requisition of supplies such as carpentry tools, blankets, muskets, bayonets, harnesses, and cartouche (cartridge) boxes. Orders are from Major [Traille], commander of the Regiment of Artillery. Letters include receipts signed by individuals including William Bell (a collarmaker), Captain Laurie, Lt. H. Scheffer, Lt. William Stevenson, Major Capers, and Samuel McMillan (a carpenter). One letter directs Wray to issue carpenters and wheelers tools to Samuel McMillan and a "Negroe" wheeler named Winter.
