Collection contains correspondence, speeches, membership applications, and a pledge card pertaining to the Law and Order League of Charleston, South Carolina. Correspondence includes a letter (1914) from the Woman's Auxiliary to the Law and Order League of Charleston, South Carolina which asks for prayers for the efforts of the League. A letter (n.d.) from Episcopal Bishop William A. Guerry authorizes a special prayer for "the triumph of righteousness in our city." A speech (1913) calls for Christian men and women of Charleston to live their beliefs and exert a moral influence on society. Another speech (n.d.) asserts that the Law and Order League supports the reform of liquor laws but is "not a Temperance Society" and that although the dispensary laws of South Carolina are not particularly wise or good that they are better than nothing. Also includes two printed application for membership forms (blank) and a printed pledge card (blank) from the League.
