Charleston, South Carolina merchant and South Carolina state representative. In the late 1750s John Beale joined his father Othniel Beale in the firm of Othniel Beale & Son (Charleston, S.C.). Othniel Beale was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts and settled in Charleston as a merchant in 1721. Othniel Beale was also a South Carolina state representative.
