Research on St. Giles' Plantation, 1674-1970.

Research materials include typewritten transcriptions of plantation accounts (1674-1680) between the Earl of Shaftesbury and his manager Andrew Percival concerning St. Giles' Plantation (Seigniory), Shaftesbury's South Carolina plantation, later called Ashley Barony. Also includes a transcript of the accounts (1674-1678) of Dr. Henry Woodward, agent under Percival for the Indian trade (mainly furs and skins) conducted from the plantation, and photocopies of legal documents (1674) concerning Shaftesbury's lands.
