Reverend Jason Lee, pioneer Methodist missionary, was born on June 28, 1803 in Stanstead, Quebec. After his ordination in 1834, Jason Lee and his nephew, Daniel Lee, journeyed overland to Oregon to serve the Flathead Indians. It was soon decided to abandon the Flathead mission and establish a new mission in the Willamette Valley. Reverend Daniel Lee, pioneer Methodist missionary, was born on July 1, 1806 in Stanstead, Quebec. Following his ordination in 1834, Daniel traveled overland to Oregon with his uncle, Jason Lee. They established the Willamette Mission at Mission Bottom (near Salem).
