The College of Pharmacy Records consist of materials pertaining to the history of pharmacy in Oregon assembled and written by Dean Adolph Ziefle that document the development of pharmacy instruction at Oregon State; reports; and publications. The Ziefle materials include biographical information about Ziefle and information about pharmacy alumni. The reports include the 1983 annual report of the Oregon Poison Control and Drug Information Center and a School of Pharmacy report for 1982-1983. The publications include newsletters, alumni directories, and promotional materials issued by the College.

Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Adolph Ziefle, was born August 19, 1882 at Fosters Station near Ann Arbor Michigan. From the University of Michigan he received the degree of Pharmaceutical Chemist in 1904 and an M.S. degree in 1909. In 1907, Ziefle was appointed to the position of drug chemist for the Kansas State Board of Health as well as professor of pharmacy at the University of Kansas.
