Correspondence of I.L. Tolstoĭ. Nearly all the correspondence is between Ili︠́a︡ Tolstoĭ and his wife, Nadezhda Klementévna Tolstai︠a︡. It primarily dates from the 1920s and concerns the lecture series Ili︠́a︡ Tolstoĭ gave throughout the United States and in Paris. There is one letter from Aleksandra L. Tolstai︠a︡ and a folder of official correspondence relating to the lecture series, including several letters from Tolstoĭ's manager. There is a brief essay by Tolstoĭ entitled "A Democratic Peace" and an unidentified photograph, presumably of Nadezhda Tolstai︠a︡.
