Horton Marlais Davies, the Henry W. Putnam Professor of Religion Emeritus, served on the Princeton faculty from 1956 until 1984. He was the author of more than 30 books, including WORSHIP and THEOLOGY IN ENGLAND. Davies, a native of South Wales, earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Edinburgh and his D.Phil. from Oxford University.
