Film and television music collection, ca. 1963-2004.

The collection spans Mizzy's Hollywood years of television and film composing, from approximately 1963 to 2004. There are numerous television scores, primarily handwritten, most notably his classic theme for the Addams family, and for Green acres. Scores for other television shows such as Quincy, the Secret life of Henry Phyfe, and Delta House are also in the collection. Mizzy's film scores range from music for The night walker, starring Barbara Stanwyck (1964), a remake of the Perils of Pauline starring Pat Boone (1967), and the Don Knotts feature, The reluctant astronaut (1967). Mizzy's 21st century work includes the 2003 CD recording, Songs for the jogging crowd, and 2004's New Spiderman theme, written for the DVD release of the film Spiderman 2.

Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1922, Vic Mizzy is a composer of popular music for television and movies. Two of his most memorable and enduring compositions are the themes for the 1960s CBS television shows, The Addams family and Green acres. Mizzy's musical education began at the age of four, when he learned to play George Gershwin tunes on a player piano.
