Certificate of Jane Iliff [manuscript], 1822 May 31.

Authenticates the reliques of the Great Poet purchased from her father Thomas Hart by Thomas Hornby when he rented Shakespeare's Birthplace from Thomas Hart in 1793 and invalidates the judgment of her nephew William Shakespeare Hart. Followed by two certificates of Thomas Kite of Clifford Chambers, Clos., father-in-law of Thomas Hart (the younger), authenticating the remains of Shakespeare's chair (corroborated by Elizabeth Kitchen) and the other articles.
