Bruce Trinkley papers, 1925-2005.

This collection of the Bruce Trinkley papers consists primarily of audio recordings of musical performances he directed, as well as programs, course descriptions, meeting notes, compositions, and promotional materials. Audio recordings include those of the Penn State Glee Club, the Pennsylvania Vocal Ensemble, the Lehigh University Women's Choir, Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians, and the Pennsylvania Bicentennial Wagon Train Show.

The Pennsylvania Humanities Council designated the year 1985 as "The Year of the Pennsylvania Writer." The PHC funded projects in eight locations throughout the Commonwealth to gain appreciation, understanding, and recognition for past and present Pennsylvania writers. Bruce Trinkley received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in musical composition from Columbia University (1966, 1970), where he directed the Glee Club. He came to Penn State in 1970 as an assistant professor in the Department of Music, and became an associate professor in 1976 and a full professor of music in the late 1990s.
