Videotapes and Films 1968-1990.

Series 16.1.9 consists of videotapes and films documenting medical procedures, media news briefings, and the UAB Academic Health Center. The videotapes are in one half inch VHS, three-fourths inch, and three-fourths inch mini formats. Tapes include footage of angioplasty, heart surgery, kidney transplants, and neonatal intensive care. The Burn Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are also highlighted. Surgery footage includes Dr. James Kirklin, son of Dr. John Kirklin, performing surgery. Films include copies of "The Health Team," a 1968 film about the Medical Center. Special arrangements must be made in advance to view these materials as the Archives does not have viewing equipment.
