This collection consists of records, papers, minutes and correspondence regarding the American Legion Alfred W. Leach Post No. 3 in Olympia, WA. There are 2 boxes of loose photographs that are predominately black & white with a few colored photographs mixed in. There are several funeral memorial cards and obituaries from the local newspapers for Veterans. There's a condensed history of the Post. The collection includes a list of the original members for the Charter; lists of commanders of the Post; photographs of the Legion House Project, where members restored a house for a Veteran. The collection contains a list of Veteran deaths from May 1958 through May 1959 from the Mills & Mills Funeral Home located in Tumwater, WA.

Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
