Autograph letters signed from R.B. Peake to various recipients [manuscript], 1836-1846.

(1) Is written from the English Opera House, dated June 18, 1836 and addressed to [William Henry?] Oxberry. Due to the opposition of the great theatre having reduced the theatre's receipts to less than half, Peake requests the recipient to absent himself from the Treasury on the 20th and 27th of June as a temporary relief. (2) is written from Queen's Elm, dated April 2, 1846. Peake writes to the "most potent lessee of two metropolitan theatres," B. [Benjamin?] Webster, that he "will be aground on Monday next, for the want of ten pounds, or as much more as can be spared..."
