Papers of John Philip Kemble [manuscript], 1782-ca. 1830.

Contents: a memorandum concerning the sale of his theatrical wardrobe to Covent Garden Theatre, May, 1817, signed by Kemble and Henry Harris; a note, ca. 1823, written after Kemble's death concerning his shares of Covent Garden; an autograph, 1807. Also, a note stating the receipts of Kemble's benefit June 10, 1816; two invitations to Kemble's farewell dinner, June 27, 1817, one issued to Paul Munn and bearing the signature of Charles Kemble; a copy, in Kemble's hand, of part of a letter to John Paston (1421-1466) from his wife, 1450, concerning the murder of the Duke of Suffolk; and lines written by Kemble to Elizabeth (Younge) Pope, a poem copied by him (The passions), 1782, articles from periodicals and other items.
