Letter #1: 1922 Mar 23. Explains in detail why he has asked him [Jones] to recall a notice from Nebraska State Journal, although the notice was published in The Star. He encloses a proof of a newspaper paragraph with "Killed at request of Mr. Roseborough" and "Will Owen Jones" written on it in pencil. The article concerned Mme. Matzenauer and her intention to include some songs composed by Lieurance in her coming recital in Lincoln, Nebraska, and names the four songs. Letter #2: 1923 Sep 29. Answers a note from Jones, saying he is about to leave for "our concert tour...and will try to have luncheon with you about November 1st." He encloses a notice of "our joint appearance with the Tabernacle Choir at the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City...on November 22nd." He remarks that the "Mormons are interested in my program and the Indian feature as it connects up pretty closely with the Book of Mormon History, at least the scientific part, the whole tone scale of the Indian flute which can be traced back through many generations of races. The Mormons, of course, believe that the Indians are one of the lost tribes of Israel."
