Oversize collection of political cartoons collected by the Western Illinois University Art Gallery. Included are Ford and Regan Era cartoons by Tom Ingelhart; Nixon Era cartoons by Frank Miller, John Fischetti, and Paul Conrad; an unknown cartoon from 1928-1929; an issue of The Cartoon magazine from May 16, 1908; and an undated cartoon by Michael Brickman. The collection also includes advertisements for "Political Cartoons on 'Freedom of the Press,'" which ran at Western Illinois University's Heritage Room in the University Union on October 25, 1973; and 'Jim Allen: The Clinton Years and Other Political Cartoons,' which ran in the Art Gallery from October 28 to November 20, 2008.

John R. Fischetti (b.1916-d.1981) was editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Sun-Times (1978-80) and the Chicago Daily News (1967-78) and staff cartoonist for The New York Herald Tribune (1962-67). Paul Conrad, winner of three Pulitzer Prizes and many other awards, was the editorial cartoonist for the Los Angeles Times from 1964 until his semi-retirement in 1993.
