Chiefly legal records concerning lands owned by the Sanders family of southwestern Virginia, especially Wythe County, but also including Lee, Montgomery, Smyth, and Washington counties. Some of these lands were earlier owned by Manasses Friel and his daughter Sophia Friel of Montgomery and Wythe counties. Also concerns the lease of Sanders land in Wythe County by Virginia Iron, Coal & Coke Company of Bristol, Va., for the mining of iron ore. Includes estate papers for Sarah Woods (Kincannon) Curran, Joseph Draper, and Andrew Tate Sanders.
