The records of the Southern Baptist Commission on the American Baptist Seminary document the origin and development of the seminary. The records include the minutes of the Commission (1925-1965), the Business and Executive Committees of the seminary (1924-1965) and minutes of the Board of Trustees (1924-1965) and minutes of the Holding Board of the Seminary (1925-1965). Also included is a document highlighting the significant events in the history of African American Baptist ministerial education related to Southern Baptists.
