Records of a nonprofit, community-based arts organization that was established to make literary arts accessible to a diverse community. The collection documents the poetry, writing, and other literary programs SASE sponsored and administered in Minneapolis and in St. Paul, particularly among inner-city minority and at-risk youth. SASE was established in 1993 by writer Carolyn Holbrook-Montgomery and a group of other writers as an alternative to the Loft literary arts organization. It merged with Intermedia Arts Minnesota in 2006.
