Foundation records, 1930-1967.

Grant files and other records of the Western Foundation, a philanthropic foundation (1939-1966) established by members of the Bean family of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The records largely document the grants awarded to many educational, medical research, social service, and religious organizations in Minnesota and elsewhere. The files include correspondence, pamplets, progress reports, and some financial statements and annual reports. Especially prominent are programs of Congregational Church organizations and the League to Uphold Congregational Principles, the Sister Kenny Foundation, the Minneapolis Association for Retarded Children, and the Young Men's Christian Association. There is a great deal of crossover between the records of the Western Foundation and the F.A. Bean Foundation.
