Charles P. Clark Civil War letter book and other material, 1862-1865.

This handwritten copybook of Charles P. Clark's official inter-Navy correspondence, dating from 1862-1865, contains Clark's official after action reports, orders from his various commanders, and correspondence with the U.S. Navy Department. It also includes four loose items: four poems on one page, a railroad table, a request for leave from the Navy dated 1865, and two sheets of blank letterhead stamped with Eastern Gulf Blockading Squadron, Key West, Florida, 1864.

Charles P. Clark received a commission as an acting ensign in the United States Navy in 1862 and was initially assigned to the Eastern Gulf Blockading Squadron and later to the Mississippi River Squadron.
