A small collection of records of a Committee of Vigilance and Protection in Roxbury, Mass., Dec. 1834 - 1 Jan. 1835. The committee was formed to protect the nuns displaced from the Ursuline Convent in Charlestown which had been burned by a mob on 11 Aug. 1834. The records include proceedings of meetings of the committee and some correspondence regarding the suppression of riots and protection of the building housing the nuns in Roxbury.
