Collection of Lindley Murray letters, 1785-1822.

This collection includes letters written by Lindley Murray between 1785 and 1822. These letters primarily concern the publication of his English Grammar, the question of its acceptability for use at Ackworth School, and the issue of his use of fiction in the work. Also included are two letters from a Lindley Murray on the subject of the American political climate. It is questionable whether the author of the latter is Lindley Murray the grammarian.
