Passano thanks Seaver for sending a copy of his Greek anthology, a collection translated and printed by Seaver. Passano then notes he is sending Seaver a copy of Lawrence Wroth's A history of printing in colonial Maryland, 1686-1776. 1922. (Book currently in MRBR collection).

Seaver was born in Boston in 1878 and educated at Harvard University (B.A., 1900; M.A., 1914). He taught at Harvard, then joined the Department of English and History at M.I.T. in 1901. He later taught European art history in the Department of Architecture at M.I.T. and in the early 1940s the same at the Lowthorpe School of Landscape Architecture for Women.
